It stays inflated through the night without sagging, and if you need a little top up the next day, it takes seconds. It folds down small enough to store easily, and it’s perfect to keep on hand for visitors or trips where you want something more reliable than a basic mattress. A great balance of quality, comfort, and convenience!
It’s an ideal option for guests, short trips, or even hotel stays when you need an extra bed. Setup and takedown are fast and easy, and it folds down compactly for storage. It’s also a great solution for smaller spaces where you can’t keep a permanent bed. Highly recommend for the price, super convenient, reliable, and comfortable.
It holds air well through the night and is easy to top up if needed. Set-up and pack-up are both quick, and it folds down small enough to stash in a closet or trunk for trips. Honestly, this is a great solution for visiting family, camping with power access, or even replacing an uncomfortable spare bed. Super convenient and way more comfortable than expected.
It folds up compactly when not in use, making it ideal for last minute guests or packing in the car for a road trip. It’s a great alternative to lumpy fold out couches or hauling out an old futon. Whether it’s for holiday hosting, camping, or even extra comfort in a hotel room, this mattress delivers comfort and convenience in one smart design. Absolutely worth it.
We are very happy with it. Not only did it blow up automatically, but it is a very comfortable bed! We were very happily surprised. It's a keeper.
It inflates/deflates within a few minutes. Modern air mattresses make life so much easier, gone are the days of manual foot pumps to use late at night to inflate! The storage latch at the end encloses the power cord, which once unspooled, just needs plugging and turning the dial to inflate! We deflate every morning to make space so can’t speak to multiple days in a row of use but so easy to add air anyway. Just makes a lot of noise.
Mom says she sleeps well on it, comfortable and no air loss over the night. Very pleased with it.
For an 18” raised mattress, it’s of similar quality and at the same price point as another brand we’ve tried for 140$. Worth it to spend more to get a decent one. We used to get 100$ ones we’ve from Walmart, which all leaked and needed replacing. Too bad you can’t get a good one for 100$ that seems like a reasonable price for an air mattress. Comes with a bag for storage.
My partner and I tested it out together. Since there is a weight difference between us, when we've used air mattresses in the past, the lighter person would usually get bounced around whenever the other moves. It is expected with any air mattress, but the internal structure of this particular product does a good job of mitigating a big part of it. I should point out that our combined weight is significantly below the 600lb limit, so that may be different for heavier individuals.
The onboard pump is fantastic, and I would honestly never go back to a manual one. It takes about five minutes to fully inflate or deflate. While it is pretty loud, that is just par for the course (it's not unusually loud compared to other air pumps). I also like the velvety fabric on top because it keeps the sheets from sliding around - that seems to be a relatively standard features on premium air mattresses.
The only real annoyance is the storage bag. It is a very tight fit and requires some serious folding strategy to get it back in there. It would have been great if they had made the bag just a little bigger to save the headache. On a positive note, I am glad they included a couple of patches just in case any leaks pop up down the road.
The air mattress truly does pump up in less than 3 minutes. The sound is less obnoxious than other air mattresses I've used. My son, who is afraid of loud noises, thought this was funny and just stood laughing. For deflating it took a bit longer and was still a bit loud, but nothing unexpected given what it's doing. The dial is straightforward to use, though I wish the writing was more clear/in a different color so you don't have to put your face right to it to know which way to turn it. You are able to let out air without it needing to be plugged in.
The mattress itself is made from thicker material. It has a rim around the edge on the bottom and top. When I slept on it it was firm enough that I couldn't immediately tell it was an air mattress. And they weren't kidding that you can't feel people moving nearly as much. My toddler was climbing all over it and I could hardly tell - I'm so impressed!
The cord for blowing it up stretches 70” (just over 5.5 ft) I found this a little short to reach the nearest plug and depending on your tent size if you take it camping it may just work. Wish it had about another 1.5 ft. It does fold up to fit inside the air mattress when not in use. I wish it came with a velcro tie of some assort to hold it more securely when shoving it into the compartment as there's not tons of extra space.
Included with the air mattress were two large patches as well as instructions for how to find the hole and apply them. As well, if you scan the QR code you can easily apply to extend the warranty for another 6 months (it comes with 1 year) A storage bag is also included, however even with a decently tight fold up I had difficulty getting it in and was unable to seal it all the way. The quality of the bag and draw string are a little cheaper compared to the quality of the air mattress itself.
Comes with a nice carry pouch with handles and draw string to keep it enclosed .
There are 2 good size repair patches provided with instructions .
The pump is ETL certified with 120 V built in pump and I like the built-in pump which inflate quickly with 3 min timer i set .
I like how you can deflate it quickly with built in deflate button otherwise it takes lots of time to deflate it completely
Built cord storage gives it clean and tidy look
Raised corners are nice to have, they do give you little support when on the edge .
The 18-inch mattress height is good as you don't need any box or bed frame and it's easy to get out of mattress.
It's been up for couple of weeks and kids loving it and didn't lose any air yet hope it stays that way.
The velvet top feels cozy and looks good as well.
i have tried it couple times and it does feel comfortable ,stable and i didn't feel any discomfort but it may not be suitable for everyone as some people like firm mattress
There is some noise when pump is running for me it seems ok not that loud
Dislikes
Mattress feels quite heavy just in packing but once you inflate It feels lighter.
Once inflated and i measured the height its 17 inch on the raised corners which means its basically around 16 inch mark at the mattress surface
110V electric pump is nice but if you don't have power at campsite there is no way to inflate it.
Height is great. It's easy to get on and off of. It held the air really good on the one night I slept on it. Lost a small amount of air, but I have several air mattresses and this one did better than most at holding air.
It's comfortable as can be for an air mattress. I like that it has slightly raised sides on the top to keep you from rolling off.
The only negative is that since it is so tall, if an adult gets too close to the edge, it might tip. I am nearly 70, but didn't have any problems getting on or off.
A good deal and well made It even cones with good instructions a well as a repair kit for holes.
The built-in pump is super convenient and inflates the mattress in just a few minutes with almost no effort. The 18-inch height makes a big difference too. Feels more like a real bed and is easy to get on and off. The velvety top is soft and comfortable, and it stayed firm all night without losing air.
It’s perfect for one adult or even two small kids, and works great for guests, home use, or camping with power access. Overall, very good quality, durable, and comfortable. I’m really happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.
I have included a video of one of my mattress inspectors running some durability testing. This took place in the morning before we topped it up, this represents the most severe pressure loss we encountered and it took place on the first night, likely a result of stretching.
Ease of use: Very easy to use, plug it in, turn the knob one way to fill and the other way to empty. The middle position closes the valve. On this note I’d like to prematurely get into my one little gripe: it does not inflate in 3 minutes. The listing photos and description boast a 3 minute fill, this is a little bit of an exaggeration. I mean… on a technicality basis yes it was inflated in 3 minutes but not fully, maybe 50%. You're welcome to sleep on it in that state but it would be more like sleeping on the floor with the limp husk of an air mattress surrounding you. It still filled up fast, it was firmly inflated in under 10 minutes. I filled and deflated it twice and it consistently firmly inflated in around 7 mins. It’s still super fast, like it’s not a race. If you’re worried about shaving 4 minutes off of your mattress inflation time you’re camping wrong.
The motor deflates it very fast and very flat, the mattress was easily folded up and stowed away in the included bag.
Out of the box this air mattress feels high quality. The material feels thick and tough, and the seams are well done. It doesn’t have that cheap inflatable pool floaty feel you get with lower end mattresses.
I inflated the mattress on day one. The kids jumped around on it a bit and we did movie night on it. After about 3 hours of use it got a bit soft. This is normal, when they’re new or if it’s been a while since last inflated they stretch a little bit, so we topped it up. For the next 3 days the kids jumped on it regularly, one night my oldest son slept on it, and we had another movie night where the kids laid down on it. For the full 3 days it held pressure very well, one or two minor top ups and even those were likely unnecessary, probably just more stretching from the kids jumping on it profusely. The pressure loss never seemed consistent enough to be indicative of a leak.
Performance: It’s comfortable. Like, it’s still an air mattress, you’re not tricking anyone. It’s definitely one of the more comfortable air mattresses I’ve slept on but it still feels like an air mattress. I quite enjoyed the night I spent on it and I find a good air mattress to be perfectly comfortable. As mentioned earlier I discovered very minimal pressure loss, if any, overnight, so I don’t think this mattress will result in the “I went to bed at a 60 cm higher elevation than I woke up” situation.
Overall this is in the higher tier of inflatable mattresses I’ve had the fortune of sleeping on. It’s a little bit on the pricey side, a little over 160 CAD at the time of review, but the quality and comfort definitely justify the cost.
I have family coming over for Christmas and while I have enough rooms, I don't have enough beds. My sister said she'd be fine with sleeping on an air mattress so I got her this.
So far, she's slept on it for 3 days and she says it's just as comfortable as her bed back home. She was expecting it to be a bit cold since it's an air mattress and it's hollow but she said it was the perfect temperature all night. The fabric top makes it really nice and almost feels like a real mattress.
Inflation time took 3 minutes and 22 seconds. The entire set up from unboxing to being ready to sleep in with the sheets only took around 15 minutes. This makes it perfect for impromptu guests or emergencies.
While it's far from silent, the pump was quieter than I was anticipating. I wouldn't want it on at all times, but it wasn't disruptful during the inflation.
It's a true full size by definition. We used our spare full sheets and it fit on it perfectly.
Once we put this away we are planning on using it while camping once summer comes. The mattress is more than big enough for both my wife and I thankfully.
What's more is there was no odor when unboxing or inflating it.
For this price, I'd highly recommend this mattress even if it's just for having a spare around the house.
It is a bit heavy compared to the basic air mattress I had, but the convenience is the key, imagining just turning it on, and boom, you have a raised twin bed. No more feeling of sleeping on the ground.
I would not carry it for back-country camping, but for a picnic or sleeping in the back of the trunk, this is perfect, it's comfortable as the material is soft and warm. I wish it had a pillow built in, but I do have my own foldable pillows, so no big deal.
Overall, it has good performance, and I would like to keep it in the guest room.

One of our grandchildren is here a lot and since my guest bed is on risers next to hardwood over concrete floors, there is no way he can sleep up on it, even now that he can climb up by himself.
So he's had a regular inflatable mattress on the floor for the past 3 years since learning how to climb out of the crib.
He sleeps well on it but it is so low that I can't get down to hug him goodnight or climb into bed with him if he needs it when he's really sick. Making the bed is a pain as well since I have to bend so low or do it from my knees.
This 18" bed is the right height to make me more comfortable attending to him, was easy to make (and you don't need deep pocket sheets but if you have them, you'll be able to use them) and inflates much more quietly than the old air mattress.
Grandson loves his new bed (it feels like a 'big boy' bed to him) and he slept 11 hours but I'm not sure how much of that was the bed or playing for hours with his cousins.
I love it because it looks better in the room, and because it is more substantial, I don't trip over the blankets pooling on the floor. They hang nicely instead.
I can't speak to longevity but this bed has ticked all my boxes and I'm thrilled we picked it up.
I got this inflatable air mattress because our old one kept leaking air from the valve and couldn’t be repaired, so we had to throw it out. On top of that, it only inflated to about 8 inches high, which made it feel more like sleeping on the floor than on a proper bed. Out of the box, it comes rolled up in a storage bag with a drawstring and weighs about 7.28 lbs (3.3 kg).
The PVC material feels thick, heavy-duty, and puncture-resistant. It measures 75 inches long × 54 inches wide × 17.75 inches high, which is about the same size as our old air mattress except for the added height. At almost 18 inches tall, it feels much more like sleeping on an actual bed, rather than a thin air mattress on the floor.
The built-in electric pump inflated the mattress in about two and a half minutes, and it felt pretty firm after three minutes. The sound of the pump is noticeable but not deafening, especially compared to the external air pump for our old air mattress. Using a sound-meter app on my phone, I measured about 72 dB during inflation and about 74 dB during deflation, which is roughly comparable to busy street traffic.
The top features a soft, flocked surface that feels comfortable to lie on and helps keep sheets in place. Due to the mattress height, a deep-pocket fitted sheet with elastic corners works best.
The product description mentions an internal coil system designed to improve stability and reduce motion transfer. I noticed that as it was inflating, the interior filled with air first before the outer edges. Once fully inflated, the mattress felt firm, and after a few minutes, you almost forget it’s an air mattress – until you roll toward the edge to get off and feel a bit of give.
The air pump is ETL certified, which gives added peace of mind that it has been tested to North American safety standards. The pump model number (HT-688) and manufacturer (Jiangsu Youmay Electric Appliance Co., Ltd.) are printed on the pump and can be found in the ETL online database.
Deflating is just as easy by turning the dial. Folding and rolling it back up can be done by one person, but I found it easier with two people. As noted in the manual, it helps to fold the mattress so that when you roll it, the end with the pump folds over once. The storage bag initially seems larger than necessary, but the extra room is helpful depending on how well you’re able to deflate and roll the mattress back up.
Tips:
• Before unrolling the mattress for the first time, mark a few dotted lines along the folds with a Sharpie. When packing it back up, these act as guides to help roll it neatly for storage.
• To minimize the PVC smell, set the mattress up and let it air out in a well-ventilated room for at least a day. This is especially helpful if guests are sensitive to odours. While airing it out, I noticed the mattress felt slightly softer after a few hours – this is normal, as new PVC stretches a bit. I topped up the air every couple of hours to maintain maximum firmness until it was ready to pack away.
• As the mattress deflates, check for sharp creases. When rolling it up, sharp folds can pinch the PVC and potentially cause small leaks over time.
SUMMARY/FINAL THOUGHTS:
The Dr. Air mattress feels well-made and sturdy. It’s easy to set up, and the built-in pump inflates the mattress in about 3 minutes. The power cord can be neatly stored in the storage compartment next to the pump control dial, which is a nice touch. The flocked top feels soft, and the internal coil construction provides solid support for 2 adults. Although it could be used for camping, you’ll need a power inverter or generator, as the pump requires an AC outlet.
At $139 (excluding import and duty fees at the time of this review), it feels reasonably priced compared to similar inflatable air mattresses with comparable size and features. What stands out about the Dr. Air mattress is that the built-in air pump is ETL certified, and it also comes with a one-year warranty, which adds peace of mind. Two PVC repair patches are included in case a small leak or tear develops, and the manufacturer’s email address and phone number are printed directly on the mattress, making support easy to access if needed.
We’re looking forward to having our nieces over for a sleepover during the holidays now that we have a functional, comfortable air mattress again. At about 18 inches in height, it feels more like a bed than an air mattress on the floor.
I received this product through Amazon Vine in exchange for an honest opinion. I hope these comments help you with your decision.
I am very impressed with this air mattress; every house should have one in the closet.
This mattress is great to have stored in your house for overnight visitors. Why waste a whole room with a guest bed? Maximize your space and make that office you always wanted — having this mattress means you have a guest bed that goes from the closet to set up with sheets in 5 minutes. No need for a permanent guest bed taking up space.
This matress is perfect for travelling as well. You can take a comfortable and easy to set up bed anywhere you go. When you visit family over the holidays, don't get stuck on that uncomfortable futon in the basement — bring along your own comfortable bed.
I am super happy with this mattress and I can't think of any reason why someone wouldn't want one of these in thier closet. Highly recommended!
This is the perfect mattress to have in the closet for when guests come over — get rid of that uncomfortable old futon in the basement! This mattress is also easy to travel with — easy to set up in a hotel room instead of paying for an additonal (and uncomfotable) cot. Take it with you when visiting relatives on holidays. It is probably more comfortable than the guest beds they have.
I am very happy with this mattress! A must have for having guests over and for travel.
This air mattress is also very comforatable! It stays inflated and firm for the entire night. It is perfect to have when you have an overnight guest come to visit. It also is great to travel with, you can take this easy to set up and comfortable bed wherever you go. I am actually looking forward to taking this mattress camping — I have a tent large enough for this air mattress and it will be way more comfortable than sleeping on the hard ground.
This air mattress is awesome — a total win! I can't think of who wouldn't have use for a instant extra bed that takes minutes to set up and is also super comfortable.
Coming in a drawstring bag providing a simple and efficient way of storing this mattress between uses, it simply slides out, unfolds with the only consideration at this point is a floor devoid of any potential puncture hazards and close enough to a power outlet. This filled up super fast! I did try to time it but as you see from the video the mattress was already being filled when this started. Somehow I accidentally stopped the video and so just started it again. I wanted this more to display the noise volume produced while inflating. While this does make noise, it wasn’t as bad as expected and the motor was likewise the same for the deflation process. But being so fast a process (I truly do believe it was about 3 minutes), I found this noise level tolerable. And the deflation process was also just as fast. All this with no input from me. I actually sipped a coffee and scanned the online news while waiting.
The quality seems great with the PVC feeling thick and the flocked top feeling soft and anti-slip. Great for sheet retention! The thickness means that even the average height adult isn’t having to lower themselves greatly to get onto this mattress. And it was firm and solid feeling, which is rather weird for me in an air mattress. While my measurements weren’t lining up with the advertised, as I did this alone, I was measuring what I could see of the flocked blue top, so may have been measuring shy if the total.
If you’ve bought this for guest coming over this holiday season, I would highly suggest inflating this somewhere where it can off-gas for at least a few days. This is in no way a criticism, but an observation. New PVC generally comes with this scent/smell. Personally I plan to relocated this mattress , unpacked it again and inflated it to sit like that for the next week in a rarely used area of the lower level. I would prefer that this smell be gone both before the guests arrive and don’t want it reappearing when unpacked for the next round of use. But I am delighted to own this and very pleased with the great quality and ease of it.

The velvety top is soft and comfortable, and it didn’t feel slippery or noisy when moving around. I slept on it for the whole night and it stayed firm with no air loss, which is always my biggest concern with air mattresses. It feels sturdy and supportive, and the honeycomb design really helps with stability.
Cleanup was just as easy—deflated quickly and stored away without hassle. Overall, this is a great option for guests or temporary sleeping at home. Comfortable, reliable, and very easy to use.
They also included instructions on how to fold the mattress after deflating, thank you so much.
I put my queen size, deep pocket sheets on and that works very well as you can see by the picture.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality and a great value for your money.
Not only is the material thick and durable, but the time and ease it requires to inflate/deflate the mattress using the built in electric pump is amazing.
The mattress is very very easy to set up. Unfold it, open up the compartment near the pump hiding the cable and plug it into a wall outlet. Now turn the dial to INFLATE and watch in real time as it fills up.
Too firm? Switch to deflate to remove some air. Not firm enough? Switch it back to inflate. I love this, it's so easy.
The mattress is comfy to lay on once you add on your sheets and it's got quite a bit of height as well, so you are not as close to the ground as I would have expected.
When you are done with the mattress, run it on deflate mode to remove all the air, turn the dial back to OFF to make sure no air can get in, then fold it back up and tuck it away in the bag.
It comes with a nice little case which is great for storing it away for future use.
Here's a tip:
When folding the deflated mattress up for storage, you may notice some air still remains in the mattress. Set the pump to DEFLATE again and apply pressure to the empty mattress with your knees/body. This will force out that little bit of extra air. While applying pressure, turn the dial back to OFF to make sure no air gets back in.
The pump on this thing is quite powerful, so expect it to be noisy when in use. It sounds like you're standing next to a vacuum cleaner, so be aware of that.
This thing will be perfect for when you are having guests over or even going camping with if you have the ability to plug it in somewhere.
Highly recommended!!
I can't say I have ever owned an air mattress this big. A couple cheap twin sized camping air mattresses, but that is all I have to compare it to. This is absolutely incredible. I'm very pleased with it. Comfortable enough that I could sleep the whole night through on it if needed (I'm very fussy). The built in pump is very helpful. A nice 18 inch height means I'm not basically bending over to lay on the floor.
I really have zero complaints about the product itself. Packing it away after inflating it on the other hand was a pain. But that's because I wanted it in the box and not the bag it comes with.. I just don't trust something to not accidentally puncture the thing through the bag so I want it stored nicely. I might get a little tote to put it in long-term.
What stood out to me most was the build quality. The material feels thick and sturdy, and the honeycomb support inside gives it a more stable feel than the typical air beds I have used over the years. It holds weight really well and does not have that overly bouncy movement when you shift around. During my testing it stayed firm across the entire surface, which made it surprisingly comfortable to sit and read on for a while.
The velvety top is soft and helps keep sheets from sliding, and the raised height makes it feel closer to a regular bed instead of a temporary inflatable. It also stayed fully inflated overnight with no sagging, which reassures me that the leak resistant design is doing its job.
Deflating it was just as easy. The pump pulled the air out quickly and left it flat enough to fold up without wrestling with it. The storage bag is generously sized, so getting everything back inside was simple. The only real drawback is that you do need access to electricity to inflate and deflate it, so it is not the best choice for completely off grid camping. For home use or anywhere with a power source, that will not be a problem.
Overall, this mattress impressed me. It is comfortable, stable, easy to set up, and feels well made. For guests or general indoor use, it is a dependable option that performs exactly as described.
One thing that impressed me right away is how solid and well built the mattress feels once fully inflated. The stated weight capacity is high and it genuinely seems capable of handling it without strain. The surface stays stable, the internal structure feels sturdy, and there is no noticeable sagging when two adults are on it. The honeycomb design creates an even sleeping surface, and the velvety top helps keep sheets in place. When I first unpacked it there was a mild plastic smell, which is common with thicker PVC materials. In this case the smell faded quickly after letting the mattress air out, and it was no longer noticeable a few days later.
In real use the mattress performs reliably. It benefits from a quick top up before each night, which is expected with PVC during early use. Once firmed up it stays comfortable through the night and offers very good support. The raised height adds to the comfort, making it feel more like a regular mattress instead of placing guests close to the floor. I have mainly used this mattress in a spare room for overnight guests, and the convenience has been great. It folds down without much effort and fits back into the storage bag easily. The materials feel thick and durable, and the reinforced seams add to the sense of long term reliability.
Overall I have been happy with this mattress. The strong weight capacity, sturdy construction, and comfortable sleeping surface make it a dependable choice for guests or occasional use. The only real drawback is the small nightly top up, but aside from that it delivers a solid experience.
I REALLY like the built-in air pump. Simply pull out the plug from the storage compartment, plug it in, and turn the dial. The pump needs to be manually turned off, so you can adjust the pressure and hardness to your liking. It can be used not only to inflate, but to deflate as well. And it does both very well taking mere minutes. I attached a video of 30 seconds of inflation to give you an idea of the speed and sound (which isn’t that noisy).
A carry bag with a draw string is included for storage.
Once inflated, it holds its pressure fine when you lie on it. The fact that it inflates and deflates so fast makes it really easy to set up and take down.
Two repair patches are included in the unfortunate case of a puncture.
The pump carries the ETL safety certification stamp.
Summary:
The mattress is well made, and very comfortable. I am VERY happy with it.
I really don’t see how anyone would be disappointed with it, and it gets a thumbs up recommendation.
It weighs just over 11 lbs and comes with a carry/storage bag and a patch repair kit. The pump can only be powered by an AC outlet and there is no other way to attach an external air pump as this mattress does not include a standard air mattress air port. When running, the pump runs at 78dB and fills the mattress in 1 1/2 minutes.
Once fully filled, the mattress measures 72x37x16 which is shorter in every direction than the advertised size of 75x39x18 (pic). The most notable difference is the 16” height when expecting 18” (pic). The deflate feature works well and speeds up the deflation time. Even though it does not have the standard port, the air mattress can still deflate even without any power going to the pump simply by turning it to deflate.
If you’re going to be somewhere that has an AC outlet available, you can easily use this air mattress. This is probably not the mattress to take if you’re going camping in the woods. Without a standard port as an alternate method of filling the mattress, if the built in pump doesn’t work, then you’re left with an 11 lb paper weight. There is no valid reason not to have included an inexpensive standard air port.

Before you buy it, here’s a few things to note:
▪️ The materials are high-quality and match other name brand offerings
▪️ It requires electricity to inflate, and the built-in pump operates quickly and quietly (be aware that if the pump dies the mattress will be unusable)
▪️ It has a 5.5ft (68”) chord, which is plenty, and it stores nicely in a built-in storage compartment when not in use
▪️ You can deflate it manually or use the pump to accelerate the process
▪️ It comes with a nice large carrying case (easy to pack it back in), a patch kit and detailed instructions
▪️ It is true to size, holds it air, and is comfortable
▪️ It is ETL certified
The mattress inflates fast and deflates just as easy. I remember walking on the old air mattresses to get the residual air out and flatten it, but that’s not necessary any longer. I hit deflate on this mattress and, within minutes, it’s flat and ready to be rolled up and stuffed back in its carrying bag. I should say that I wasn’t able to get it back in as neatly as it was when I opened the package, but it still fit.
I like the height on the mattress that’s closer to a real bed. My mother uses a walker and we might go to my sister’s for the holidays. I am thinking of having my mom use this mattress when we’re there, because she can transfer from the mattress to her walker with easy. With a lower air mattress, that would not have been an option for her.
The bed is comfortable, more comfy than some of the spring mattresses I’ve slept on while traveling. For my kids, when they have a sleep over, as long as the house they’re visiting has a big enough play room or basement, the kids bring air mattresses rather than blankets. These are so easy to toss in the trunk. They’re heavy, but do not take up much more room than a grocery bag. We use it outdoors too and you find yourself glamping, rather than camping.
I put twin sheets on this and the velour-like surface does not transfer heat. So, you don’t wake up sweating. The curves of the mattress on the side keep the fitted sheets from sliding off as easily, too.
Years ago, air mattresses would spring a leak after a few uses, but this one is thick and durable. It allows for exuberant movement like bouncing or pressing knees down into the top, flipping around, the kind of activity that my tireless kids excel at. It doesn’t harm the mattress. Of course, we make sure we don’t pile on anywhere near the 500 pound weight limit.
Once inflated, the mattress feels very solid and supportive. The 18" raised design is a big plus — it’s much easier to get on and off compared to a thin sleeping pad. It’s comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep, and the velvety waterproof top adds a nice touch. It doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy like many inflatable mattresses do; this one actually feels like a “real” bed when inflated.
The built-in pump makes inflation extremely easy: it takes only about 2–3 minutes to get it fully inflated. No separate pump needed, which is super convenient — especially if you need to set up a bed quickly for overnight guests or while camping. Deflating and packing it away is straightforward too.
The mattress supports up to 500 lbs, which makes it quite sturdy. During my use, it held up well without any air leaks or sudden deflation overnight. The construction feels robust enough for repeated use over time, whether at home or outdoors.
This air mattress works well in a guest room, a small apartment, or even outdoors for camping or trips. The raised height makes getting in and out easy — which is great if you have older guests or anyone who doesn’t like bending down to the floor. And because it’s inflatable, you can store it compactly when not in use.
If you’re looking for an easy-to-use, comfortable, and versatile air mattress — whether for guests at home or for camping adventures — this twin air mattress is a smart buy. It strikes a great balance between comfort, convenience, and affordability.
First, the built in pump. This is the primary reason to buy an air mattress in this category, and Dr Air does a commendable job with it. The inflation process begins with a single touch, and the pump immediately comes to life with a confidence that suggests someone in their engineering department actually tested the thing before shipping it. It inflates the mattress to full size within a few minutes, giving you a genuinely firm and usable surface without the usual ritual of topping it off by hand or accepting a disappointing half full result. The pump is also surprisingly quiet. The manufacturer claims it runs forty seven percent quieter than typical models. While I did not conduct acoustic lab measurements I can say it is far less irritating than most pumps I have encountered, which tend to sound like a leaf blower trapped inside a plastic container.
Once inflated the mattress has an impressive sense of structure. Many air mattresses suffer from the classic problem of “center sag” where the user gradually drifts into a body sized depression regardless of how much air is pumped in. The honeycomb pillar system in this design does a good job of resisting that. The surface feels even, supportive, and not prone to the rolling sensation you get from cheaper coil layouts. The velvety flocked top adds a bit of grip so sheets and sleeping bags stay put and do not bunch up or slide off the edges the moment someone shifts their weight.
In terms of materials this mattress is clearly built heavier than most. The PVC is thicker, the seams feel reinforced rather than merely sealed, and there is a noticeable reduction in the “balloon effect” where the mattress visibly stretches the first time it is used. The manufacturer is correct that PVC relaxes during early use so some softening overnight is normal. A quick top up brings it back to full firmness. After the break in period the mattress holds air admirably.
The included accessories are fairly standard. You get a storage bag, which is genuinely useful, and a patch kit, which is obligatory but seldom used. The bag is generously sized, making it easier to roll and stow the mattress without having to compress it with the strength of a professional wrestler. I appreciate this because most storage bags are intentionally designed as puzzles, as though the company wants to test your patience rather than store their own product.
A few cautions are worth noting. Although this mattress feels durable it is still an electric product, which means the whimsical idea of using it as some sort of floating chaise lounge should be abandoned immediately. Built in pumps and water tend not to cooperate, so keep it on dry land. Its weight also bears mentioning. The thicker materials mean this is not a lightweight, toss it into a backpack type of mattress. For car camping, guest rooms, or travel where bulk is not a concern it excels. Anyone expecting featherweight portability will be correcting their expectations.
Now, about the price. Dr Air is clearly attempting to position itself as a premium brand in this space and the price tag reflects that ambition. While this mattress is certainly better built than the disposable types found in bargain aisles it is not inexpensive. You are paying for construction quality, faster inflation, better materials, and a generally more stable sleep surface.
In the end the Dr Air Mattress delivers exactly what it promises. It inflates quickly, performs reliably, holds its shape, and offers a genuinely comfortable sleep experience that belies its inflatable nature. It is not perfect and it is not lightweight but for anyone needing a durable, dependable air mattress for guests, camping, or general use this model is a strong performer that earns my endorsement.
